Yeti Panga 28 Backpack Review
For me, that’s the Yeti Panga 28 Backpack, and here’s why I think you’d love it just as much.
Every summer, I help my brother run guided fly fishing trips in the rugged backcountry of the Wind River Mountains. It’s always a 15-25 mile horse ride one way, and on the VIP trips, you are there for a minimum of 5 days with very limited packing space and a 100% chance of dust, mud, and rain.
To get the most out of these trips, I’ve learned it’s in my best interest (and safety) to use the Yeti Panga 28 Backpack for a variety of reasons.
- It’s Constructed with Yeti’s ThickSkin™ Shell technology which is a rubberized armor coating that is puncture resistant.
- It’s 100% waterproof and dustproof.
- It comes with adjustable shoulder straps and a removable/adjustable waist belt.
Here’s why those features mean so much.
Keeping your gear dry in the backcountry, out of service, with zero roads, or help around for miles and/or at least a full day horseback ride - having wet gear or soaked equipment could be catastrophic depending on what time of year it is.
With the Yeti Panga 28 Backpack, you don’t have to worry about it.
It keeps your gear dry and clean - even if you are wading in chest-high water.
On the pack-in, I will carry all of my clothes, solar panel, camera, batteries, and phone. Once we arrive, I unload all of my clothes into a standard dry bag and proceed to load the Yeti Panga 28 with food for the day, my camera equipment, a water filter system, and rain gear.
The removable and adjustable waistbelt makes it easier to fasten the pack to you securely and helps with supporting the load of a frameless pack - even on those longer hikes or wades.
After using this pack for several seasons, there’s rarely a trip I don’t have it. Whether it’s fishing the backcountry, keeping my gear dry on a sheep hunt, or maneuvering an airport trying to catch a flight. I think anyone would benefit from having a Yeti Panga Backpack in their system.
